Code Of Conduct

MIHAICE’22 is committed to providing a professional, friendly and safe environment for all participants at its events, regardless of class, gender, sexual orientation, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin or other protected class.

All attendees, speakers, vendors, media, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers and any related individual to the conference are required to adhere to the following Code of Conduct. Conference organizers will enforce this Code throughout the event entirety and cooperation is expected from everyone.

Registered participants will be provided with personalised credentials that will allow them access to the virtual event. These credentials are personal and non-transferable. Only registered participants will be allowed to access the virtual event. Non-registered individuals and minors will not be able to access the virtual event, notwithstanding prior agreement with MIHAICE’22.

As MIHAICE’22 aims in hosting a virtual this event is to build a stronger community. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels welcome to participate, speak up, ask questions, and engage in conversation. We expect all participants to help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone. This requires a harassment free and inclusive environment that recognizes the inherent worth of every participant. We invite all those who participate to help us create a safe and positive experiences for everyone. Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated during any portion of a meeting or event. Unacceptable behaviour includes but is not limited to:

  • Intimidating, harassing in any form, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning speech or actions.

  • Harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments or visual images related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or other personal characteristics, including those protected by law.
  • Inappropriate contact including via electronic communications.
  • The production or non-consensual sharing of harassing non-consensual photography or unwanted recording, including nudity and/or sexual images in virtual event (in any format, electronic or otherwise).
  • Real or implied threat of professional or financial damage or harm of any kind.
  • Inappropriate and sustained disruption of sessions, meetings and/or events.
  • Photographing, video or audio recording of slides, oral or presentations and distributing them unless explicit permission is granted.
  • Violating the rules and regulations of the virtual event platform.
  • Cybercrime and dubious online practices include but not limited to phishing, spamming, spoofing and cyberstalking.
  • Inappropriate self-presentation or attire. Business casual dress code is preferred.

Reporting of harassment and disruptive behaviours can be made to conference@mihaice.org 

Consequences of misconduct may include:

  • Immediate removal from meetings and/or events at the discretion of MIHAICE’22 without warning and refund.

  • Restrictions from future MIHAICE’22 events.

MIHAICE’22 reserves all rights to take any action to prevent and report violations of the Code of Conduct, including blocking access to MIHAICE’22 events.  MIHAICE’22 will not investigate reports of harassment or other misconduct during the virtual event and only inform the appropriate departments of the accused person’s host institution about any such filed report. MIHAICE’22 will be discharged from any responsibility once report has been made to the appropriate members.
